This Satirical Thriller
Coralie Fargeat's unflinching satire addresses the tyranny of female beauty along with the perceived horrors of ageing. Pushed out by her slimy boss Harvey, played by Dennis Quaid, she turns to a mysterious and horrifying treatment known as this experimental method. This produces a youthful duplicate called Sue, resulting in a steadily more parasitic dynamic between them. October 17th, Paramount+
The Woman in Cabin 10 Film

Presence Film
Steven Soderbergh challenges his creative boundaries with this clever paranormal narrative captured wholly from the perspective of the spirit. When a household with Lucy Liu as Rebekah plus Callina Liang as Chloe moves into their recent residence, the filming device – as the unseen entity – follows them around. The daughter appears conscious of the ghostly being, and it looks like defensive toward her. However, the motive remains? The premise is enjoyable that doesn't outstay its welcome, including a revelation that could catch you off guard. Saturday 11 October, multiple showings, Sky Cinema
This Self-Referential Film
The iconic actor wholeheartedly adopts his unique fame in this autobiographical spoof. The Black Phone
Derrickson's locked-room horror holds up well without requiring a sequel. Located in the late 70s in Denver, multiple kidnappings has made the youth frightened. When Finney gets captured by “the Grabber” and imprisoned in a dungeon, he dreads the worst. But the non-functional line on the wall repeatedly calls, with ghostly voices providing assistance, while the prophetic visions of Gwen, his sister may be his salvation. A genuinely scary movie. October 11th, 10.50pm, Film4
This Dramatic Portrait
In the conflict between spirituality and money, the winner is obvious for Mammon in Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation of the disgraced religious broadcaster plus her lawbreaking partner. The actor portrays the corrupt Bakker, who states initially, “God does not want us to be poor,”. Both individuals commence capitalizing on the American public's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of tacky decor, bad makeup and insincerity, however Jessica Chastain succeeds to show the real-life figure as a sympathetic figure. October 14th, 1.15am, Film4
Black Bag
This period's second offering by the same director presents a intelligence thriller as precise similar to the collars worn by Michael Fassbender's intelligence officer. His assignment is to identify a traitor inside the organization from a group of five – one of whom is Kathryn, played by Cate Blanchett. Both actors are masters of understated style, so a delicious psychological game of truth or lie unfolds. The supporting cast participate the clever spy entertainment. This Friday, 8.05am, 12.55pm, 8pm, Sky Cinema
